Eastern Connecticut State University Science Building

The Science Building has five stories of academic space with a sixth floor dedicated to mechanical and electrical systems. The state-of-the-art facility consolidates the science and math departments into one building, including biology, computer sciences, environmental earth science, math, and physical sciences. ECSU’s Center for the Study of Sustainable Energy is also located in the new building. The facility houses general-purpose classrooms, laboratories, a greenhouse, a large resource room, a 132-seat lecture hall, and an observation deck for astronomy research. The materials and systems in the building were designed to meet the requirements for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. Awards: The Connecticut Chapter of American Landscape Architects Jury’s Excellence Award for Design (2010)
