The Taft School – Odden Hockey Arena

This state-of-the-art sports facility was constructed in less than nine months under a strict budget.  Due to the fast-track nature of this project, extensive planning was key to the arena’s successful completion. Pre-construction issues of the budget and schedule were resolved with an aggressive value-engineering program that, among other things, substituted a pre-engineered structure for conventional steel without sacrificing design intent. To further ensure success, long-lead items, such as Taft’s signature “Taft Blend” brick veneer (including critical special shapes), were ordered by O&G well in advance of awarding contracts.  O&G was able to minimize disruptions to students, staff, and visitors in an active educational environment.
