Yale University – Sterling Power Plant Capacity Increase






This project for Yale University included the construction of two building additions and the installation of key heating and cooling components: a new chiller, and a 70,000 lb./hr. boiler and two new cooling towers.

The schedule for this project was extremely tight, and because of time constraints, O&G self-performed all selective demolition, excavation work, and concrete-related work.

As construction manager O&G was required to establish and maintain project schedules, control all project documents and monitor all project costs. We tracked all activities and worked with the different engineering disciplines to deal with any issues that came up. The software O&G uses for project monitoring, documentation, and cost follow-up worked extremely well on this very complex project. Other utility and infrastructure projects completed for Yale University include Science Hill Utilities Improvement, Engineering Research Building Steam, Chilled Water Line, and Prospect-Canal-Lock Streets Utilities Relocation.
